Undergraduate Scholarships

Scholarships offered at the departmental, college, and university level are available to undergraduates persuing a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences.

Departmental Scholarships

Deadline: Monday, March 2, 2009

  • Click the links below for specific criteria for each scholarship below:
  • General Criteria
    • Student must be enrolled full-time (i.e. be registered for 12 s.h. credits). Incoming freshmen who received the Mary Hoffman Farthing Scholarship must take 12 s.h. credits.
    • Applicant must meet application deadlines. All parts of the application (including reference letters) must be sealed in one envelope and placed in the box in LSD office 101
    • Applicant must have declared a major in Family & Consumer Sciences
    • Applicants should demonstrate professional development through participation in FCS professional organizations.
    • Recipients must attend the FCS Honors/Showcase in the spring to receive the scholarship.

College of Fine & Applied Arts Scholarships

The College of Fine and Applied Arts offers a scholarship to incoming freshmen majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences.

Mary Hoffman Farthing
Scholarship in FCS

Criteria:

  • Major in any FCS area of emphasis
  • Applicant will have demonstrated satisfactory academic achievement (must predict and maintain a 2.5 overall GPA)
  • Scholarship is renewable upon verification of satisfactory academic performance (2.5 overall GPA and resubmission of application and continuance of major in FCS. Letters of recommendation are not mandatory for resubmission.)
