A non-refundable registration fee of $100.00 is due upon enrollment of each child in order to secure the space.
For 2006-2007, annual tuition Upstairs (infants/toddlers) is $7700 (or $650 per month). Annual tuition Downstairs (preschoolers) is $6780 ($565 per month). Monthly tuition is subject to increase to compensate for increases in staff salaries and benefits. We strive to increase fees no more than once per year.
Monthly fees are calculated as 1/12th of the cost of the full-year program. No fluctuation occurs from month to month. No reduction in fees occurs for months during which holidays, staff development, or center closings occur or when absences occur, due to vacation, illness or other reasons. Parents are paying for a spot in Lucy Brock and not for attendance. Parents must give a minimum 30-day written notice to relinquish a spot: parents must give notice by the first of the month in order to be relieved of the responsibility of paying the following month. Families who withdraw children for the summer months and allow fee payments to lapse will be expected to re-apply for admission; no spots or places are held. A parent could maintain a child’s spot during the summer by paying the fees, even if the child does not attend.
Monthly tuition is due on the last business day of the month BEFORE services are rendered. For example, the monthly fee for October is due on September 30. Appalachian employees may pay fees via the payroll deduction plan. Other families should deposit payments (check or money order) in the locked box located in the lobby of each classroom). Cash will not be accepted. A receipt will be provided once the payment has been processed.
Some families may have fees subsidized through the Department of Social Services (D.S.S.). The family’s portion of the monthly fee is due in advance as described above. The amount paid by D.S.S. plus the amount paid by the family must equal the established monthly fee for the program. In cases where D.S.S. payment is reduced for any reason (such as excessive absences or failure to complete recertification documents on time), the family remains responsible for the difference.
